Journalist Laurie Garrett has posted a video on her Twitter profile showing the impact of glacier melting in Greenland.

Due to the melting of glaciers, large rivers are created there, flowing into holes and then reaching the ocean under the ice.

The journalist wrote at the recording that she was located in Kangerlussiauq, where it was 22 °C at the time.

As many as 12 billion tons of ice melted in the past 24 hours due to high temperatures.

In the past month alone, Greenland lost more than 197 billion tons of ice.

According to NASA, sea level has also risen rapidly there – it is now more than 12 centimeters higher.

New studies have also shown that by the end of this century, ocean levels will rise up to 33 centimeters due to human greenhouse emissions.
